GIS Tech needed with GCI.

Geographic Computer Technologies is a GIS company that primarily specializes in the creation of geoportal websites for parishes and communities. Technicians work on a variety of different projects.

Currently, our techs are working on digitization and quality checking of a geoportal website for Tishimingo Co, Mississippi. Also, we have a project that deals with georectification of maps of the Gulf of Mexico.

We have new projects coming in dealing with creation of geoportals for different areas.

Our company is fairly small. We have two offices, one in Metairie and one in Gulfport, MS. We have been in existence since 1996.

I have personally worked for GCT for the past year. It is a very flexible and friendly work environment. I have learned a great deal about GIS, even with the completion of GEOG 4805 and 4830.  Knowledge of ESRI software is required because that is primarily what the techs will be working with. This position can be full or part time. I have been part-time, but I also have worked 40 hour weeks during breaks.

The position pays $11/hour.

Please contact Madeline Brozen at MBrozen@uno.edu for inquires.
