The lab also contains multiple UNIX-based workstations, ranging from the Sun Sparc 4 to the Ultra 200 generation. These workstations run ArcInfo and Erdas Imagine software in a Solaris operating environment, and are connected by fiberoptic cable (with 100 megabit throughput) to a Sun Enterprise 450 fileserver located in the Computer Research Center. An HP 755CM large-format plotter is also located in this lab. These facilities provide students and faculty with state-of-the-art access to GIS and remote sensing technologies.
